This is one story from the Ownprint print on demand seller community.
Four years ago she was just beginning, with no experience selling online. Today her print on demand jewelry shop brings in $15,000 to $50,000 a month.
Meet Lisa. She's one of Ownprint's long-time sellers: an entrepreneur from Vancouver, Canada, a mom of two, and the owner of a print on demand jewelry shop she's been building for about four years. This is her story, in her own words.
Lisa's story starts the way most seller stories actually do: she had no prior experience, and she wasn't really making any sales at all.
That changed when she found Ownprint. "It wasn't until I started working with Ownprint that things took off in my shop," she says. Part of it was the products themselves: pieces she found so pretty she wanted to wear them, and does. Selling something she genuinely trusted changed how she showed up for her own business. She wasn't hoping the product would be good enough. She knew it was.
The other part was not being alone. "In the beginning, I was completely, completely fresh. Like I had no idea what I was doing," she remembers. "And they were so supportive. I just felt like, wow, I have this team. I'm not in this by myself at all."
Today Lisa has passed 9,000 orders with Ownprint, and the number grows every day. Her shop does between $15,000 and $50,000 a month in revenue.
Her favorite part isn't the number, though. It's the moment a package gets opened. "When somebody opens the Ownprint package, they are just thrilled. It looks even better in person than it does on the computer screen." Her reviews say the same thing, and some messages go further: "This brought me to tears. This brought my sister to tears." For Lisa, selling gifts that land like that is the whole point.
Lisa started this business when her kids were little, and they've grown up watching her build it. The revenue shows up in her family's life in very concrete ways: holidays they never would have taken, hours cut back at her regular job, and the option to leave that job entirely if she wants to. She keeps it for balance, but the choice is hers now.
And there's a part that has nothing to do with revenue: what her kids are learning from watching it happen. "It's so nice to be showing my kids: follow your dreams, because this was something so out of reach for me in the beginning. I didn't see it for myself." Now they see her live it every day.
She's tried the alternative, too. Before print on demand, she made products herself, start to finish, packaging and all. It didn't survive contact with real life: too time-consuming, and it didn't fit the life she wanted with her kids. Now she works a couple of hours a day and is free for the rest of it, while Ownprint produces and ships every order.
Lisa was skeptical at the start. "I didn't even understand that this was a real thing, that I could just make a design and somebody else would do everything else. It felt almost too good to be true."
Her advice to anyone standing where she stood four years ago: find a good coach, learn the ins and outs, and follow the roadmap.

[00:02]Hi, my name's Lisa. I live in Vancouver, British Columbia, and I sell print-on-demand jewelry. I've been doing it for about four years now, and it's been interesting.
[00:12]I found Ownprint a little while into my start. So I was actually not really making any sales in the beginning, and it wasn't until I started working with Ownprint that things took off in my shop.
[00:28]I just found their products to be so pretty and things that I actually wanted to wear. And for me, I just felt more aligned with that and it helped me to be able to pour into my business so much more and feel very confident about what I was doing, because I knew that the product was amazing, that people liked it, that I liked it, and I was proud to share it with my customers.
[01:00]Working with Ownprint is fantastic. They've always been so personable and I know that whenever I reach out to them, they're always going to get back to me and they're so kind and understanding and any questions I have, they're there to answer.
[01:17]In the beginning, I was completely, completely fresh. Like I had no idea what I was doing. And they were so supportive and I just felt like, wow, I have this team. I'm not in this by myself at all. And I just really, really appreciated that. They were always encouraging and kind and anything that came up, I knew it was gonna be handled. So, I love working with Ownprint and I have from day one.
[01:45]So as of today, I've done over 9,000 orders with Ownprint and that's growing every day. It's awesome.
[01:55]My shop does about anywhere between $15,000 to $50,000 a month in revenue and growing, and it's amazing. Ownprint's a huge part of that. So I'm so thankful for that because I just absolutely love sharing their products with my customers. I get the best feedback from my customers about what I sell and I know that it's just gonna be a good experience all around.
[02:33]My favorite part about selling personalized jewelry is that I know that when somebody opens the Ownprint package, they are just thrilled. Like they really genuinely love what they see. I feel like it's a big wow. Like it looks even better in person than it does on the computer screen, which is amazing.
[02:53]I know that when they open it, they're going to be happy and they tell me they're happy with their reviews. So I get people messaging me like, this brought me to tears, this brought my sister to tears. It's such a rewarding feeling knowing that the work that I'm doing is making a positive impact in the world and that means a lot to me.
[03:17]I'm not selling something that I'm worried about, how is it going to be received or is it going to last? I know the stuff lasts, I know it's beautiful, I wear it all the time, and it's just so nice to be selling something that I really trust and believe in.
[03:37]Building this business has just been absolutely life-changing. I started with two little kids and they've grown up watching me build my dream and it's been so awesome. We've been able to go on family holidays that we never would have done. I've been able to cut back my hours at my regular job and I could also choose not to work that if I want to. However, I like the balance, but it's just so nice to have the freedom financially and to be showing my kids: follow your dreams, because this was something so out of reach for me in the beginning. I didn't see it for myself. But I knew I wanted to do something different than I was doing and this has just changed my life and my family's life.
[04:25]And I'm so, so happy and so, so lucky and blessed to have found mentors and to have the teams like Ownprint that are there supporting me and giving me the products that are so amazing to share with my customers.
[04:43]If you're thinking about starting print-on-demand, I would definitely recommend it. In the beginning, I was skeptical. I didn't even understand that this was a real thing, that I could just make a design and somebody else would do everything else in the process. So it kind of felt almost too good to be true.
[05:09]But I have dabbled in creating the products myself start to finish, packaging and all of that, and that was so time-consuming and it did not fit at all with having kids and having freedom in my lifestyle.
[05:28]Doing print-on-demand, I can work a couple hours a day and be free to do whatever I want for the rest of my day. So it's the best thing for me and I can only imagine that it would be the best thing for anybody who tries it because it's amazing. So, if you're on the fence, find a good coach, learn the ins and outs, follow the road map and you will be successful too. If I can do it, you can do it. Good luck.
